Projector vs. SmartphoneRight now, most of us have a smartphone and the idea of projecting it is not as far-fetched as one would think. However, there are limitations to using your phone in a projector-like fashion.
For starters, you're looking at an LCD screen which means that the quality of the projected image is not going to be anywhere near that of a projector created by commercially available projectors or even HD TV screens but still good enough for some presentations or gaming purposes.

The second possible problem is the resolution of the screen. It's unlikely that you'll be able to view your phone's screen from a distance of more than 1 meter due to the fact that there's a fixed resolution on the phone and it doesn't change with distance.

Finally, you're not going to be able to have a truly portable device because smartphones are heavy and require special adapters for creating projected images.

So, despite some obvious limitations, we can still use phones as projectors. All we need to do is to modify our phones in a way that will allow them to create images of higher resolution and at a much farther distance.
